I am uniquely created with great care and significance, reflecting the beauty of God's handiwork.
— Psalm 139:14
Self-harm often stems from deep emotional pain and a sense of hopelessness. In these moments, it’s vital to remember that we are made in God's image, endowed with inherent worth and purpose. The Bible teaches us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, reminding us that we are to treat ourselves with respect and care (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). When we struggle, we can turn to God, who promises to be close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). He understands our pain and invites us to cast our burdens on Him, offering solace and strength in our weakness (1 Peter 5:7). In seeking help, whether through prayer, counseling, or community support, we affirm our value and the hope that God provides. Remembering that we are wonderfully made encourages us to choose healing over harm, to embrace our struggles with grace, and to trust in God’s plan for our lives.
