Though my heart and strength may fail, God remains my source of strength and hope forever.
— Psalm 73:26
Losing someone to suicide leaves an indelible mark on our hearts, leaving us questioning and struggling to find meaning in the pain. In times of grief, we can turn to God for comfort, knowing that He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We may feel abandoned or isolated, but God promises never to leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). His love is a source of strength that sustains us when we feel utterly lost. In our sorrow, we can also find hope in the assurance of eternal life; our loved ones are not truly gone, but have transitioned to a place of peace if they believed. As we navigate our loss, it is essential to remember that God understands our pain, and He invites us to bring our grief to Him. In our vulnerability, we can find healing and the courage to keep moving forward.
