My soul longs for You, God, as a thirsty land craves water.
— Psalm 63:1
Spiritual dryness can feel isolating, yet it's a common experience for many believers. In these times, we may feel distant from God, as if our prayers bounce off the ceiling. However, it is crucial to remember that even in our dryness, God is still present, patiently waiting for us to return to Him. The Bible reassures us that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. During such struggles, we are invited to seek Him earnestly, just as David did in the wilderness. The act of seeking implies movement; we must take steps toward God, whether through prayer, worship, or the Word. As we draw near to Him, He promises to draw near to us as well. Remember, even Jesus experienced moments of desolation, yet He always turned back to the Father. Let us be encouraged that spiritual dryness is not the end but a pathway to deeper intimacy with God.
