Just as a mother does not abandon her child, I will ensure that my people are safe and nurtured during their time of need.
— Isaiah 66:9
In times of anticipation, especially when welcoming new life, we often find ourselves seeking the Lord’s guidance and protection. The Bible assures us that God is intimately involved in our creation and journey; He knows us even before we are formed in the womb. As we reflect on the sacredness of childbirth, we can take comfort in the fact that God’s love is like that of a mother, nurturing and protective. In Isaiah 66:9, God expresses His commitment to ensure that His people will not experience loss or suffering without His intervention. This reminds us that He is present during the most vulnerable moments of our lives. Moreover, Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us to present our requests to God, and in return, He grants us peace that transcends all understanding. As we pray for safe delivery, we are not only asking for physical safety but also for an overwhelming sense of peace and assurance that God is in control.
