I know your works; you are neither hot nor cold. I wish you were one or the other. Because you are lukewarm, I will not accept you.
— Revelation 3:15-16
Lukewarm faith often creeps in when we become comfortable in our routines, neglecting the fervor that once fueled our relationship with God. In Revelation, we are warned against being neither hot nor cold, as such indifference can lead to spiritual stagnation. Jesus calls us to be zealous, actively pursuing Him and His purposes. This echoes the teachings found in James, where we are reminded that faith without action is dead. We are meant to be the salt and light of the earth, infused with a spirit of enthusiasm and dedication. When we seek God wholeheartedly, we find that He is always ready to respond. It requires intentionality to nurture our faith, to engage in prayer, study Scripture, and serve others. As we do so, we can rekindle our passion and ensure that our faith is vibrant, reflecting His glory in our lives and to those around us. Let us strive for a faith that is alive and transformative.
