As God’s chosen ones, we are called to embody compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience towards others.
— Colossians 3:12
Compassion is a divine trait that Jesus exemplified throughout His life on earth. He reached out to the marginalized, healed the sick, and offered hope to the brokenhearted. When we cultivate compassion, we mirror Christ's love and fulfill His command to love one another. In the book of Matthew, we are reminded that whatever we do for the least of these, we do for Him. This calls us to act selflessly, recognizing the inherent worth in every person. Additionally, in Ephesians, we learn that kindness and compassion are essential virtues for maintaining unity within the body of Christ. As we grow in our faith, we must let go of bitterness and anger, replacing them with understanding and empathy. Practicing compassion not only benefits those we help but also transforms our own hearts, drawing us closer to God. It becomes a source of healing and strength, shaping us into instruments of His peace in a hurting world.
